Biz 2.0 Embraces Blogging

Josh Quittner, the editor of Business 2.0, says he’s asking all his writers to start blogging, and they’re going to get paid extra for it. This is a great idea. Interestingly, the bloggers will be paid a fee based on how much traffic they draw, rather than, say, a flat rate per post. The writers and editors at the Time Inc.-owned magazine deserve to be compensated for the additional work. Now, the thing I wonder about is this: Will the pay-for-performance model affect which topics the writers choose to cover? We’ll keep an eye out.
